In a statement Friday, the Gaza-based Resistance movement announced a statement in a report issued by Guterres on August 14th.
“This step is legally invalid and reflects double standards that contradict the facts and undermine the reliability of the international system,” read the statement.
According to the Resistance Group, inclusion is not based on “independent neutral field surveys” and does not comply with internationally recognized proof standards.
“Instead, it relies entirely on the forged, politically motivated Israeli narrative, without conducting an impartial investigation, without contacting the suspect, or making a blatant violation of the occupational principles outlined in the relevant UN resolutions,” he pointed out.
The statement further criticized the UN report for failing to include the Israeli regime on its list, despite hundreds of documented evidence being made available in reports by the UN Commission on Inquiry, Independent International Rights Groups and the Special Rapporteur.
“All of them prove that the occupying forces committed systematic acts of sexual violence against Palestinian civilians, including rape and other forms of sexual assault.
“This blatant double standard represents a serious departure from the pre-international law principles of equality and the crude politicization of the UN mechanism, threatening its integrity and turning it into a tool that whitewashs off occupational crimes rather than holding them accountable.”
Hamas urged the UN Secretary-General and the Security Council to “rescend this unfair decision immediately,” launched an independent and impartial international investigation overseen by a committee of international experts, and overseen all allegations of sexual violence related to war with Zionist enemies.
Resistance groups warned that “politicization of international justice” and double standards in applying international humanitarian law will undermine trust in the United Nations system.
“(It encourages real perpetrators to continue their crimes with immunity and exacerbate the suffering of the people under occupying.”
