“According to the agreement, we are ready to retrieve and hand over all the bodies (of prisoners of war). We are not going to keep anyone with us. Let them return to their relatives. Then our martyrs will also come back and be buried with dignity,” he says.
He added that some bodies are underground or under buildings, making it difficult to reach them, which requires time and equipment.
Hamas has long said additional machines would be needed to find the remaining dead prisoners.
Al-Haya also said the assurances Hamas received from mediators and the United States meant the war in Gaza was over.
He also stressed that he had told the mediators that the amount of aid coming into Gaza needed to be increased.
He added that the Hamas movement wants to increase the amount of humanitarian aid to Gaza to meet the needs of the people in the region.
