According to Egyptian security sources, the Hamas delegation led by senior leader Khalil al-Hayya agreed to release all Israeli hostages in Cairo on Saturday in exchange for a five-year truce.
Sources explained it was “very important” to advance efforts to end the war in Gaza.
So far, Israel has not formally responded to any of the proposals, but has given it a green light to continue negotiations regarding the release of hostages, the source added.
Egypt’s Alcahera News TV channel reported that the Hamas delegation will also discuss a comprehensive deal that will ensure the full withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza and ensure the provision of humanitarian aid to the enclave.
The consultation is expected to include the establishment of a committee that administers the Gaza regime.
