Hamas called on the cease-fire mediators to pressure Israel to halt attacks and abide by the deal, and accused the United States of helping Israel “impose a new reality by force” in the Gaza Strip.
“The escalation of betrayal against our people in Gaza reveals Israel’s clear intention to renege on the cease-fire agreement and impose a new reality by force under the cover of American complicity, giving political cover to Prime Minister Netanyahu’s fascist government and allowing it to continue its crimes,” the statement said, according to a report by Al Jazeera.
“The American government’s biased position in support of the occupation constitutes a real partnership in the bloodshed of children and women and directly encourages the continuation of the invasion.”
It added: “The movement also calls on the mediators and guarantors to take full responsibility for this escalating aggression and to immediately put pressure on the occupying government to end the massacre and fully comply with the terms of the agreement.”
