Hamas’ armed wing, the Al-Qassam Brigade, issued a statement describing Gaza as a “cost war of attrition,” warning that the fate of Israeli prisoners depends on Israeli military movements.
The statement, published in Hebrew, highlighted Hamas fighter jets being deployed throughout the neighborhood and ready to stand up to Israeli forces, news television reported.
Israeli prisoners are scattered across nearby Gaza city areas and warned that the Alcasam Brigade would not guarantee safety as long as Netanyahu is determined to “kill” them.
On Thursday, Israeli forces continued further into Gaza in northern Gaza, with tanks moving along the road towards the heart of Gaza city, with residents reporting disruptions in telephone and internet services.
Local medical staff said at least 33 bodies killed in Israeli airstrikes were taken to Alsifa Hospital.
Israeli forces have announced that four soldiers have been killed and three others have been injured in Rafa, in southern Gaza.
According to the initial investigation, the victims occurred when a humvee was attacked by a roadside bomb while accompanying a bulldozer clearing the route in Rafa’s Jenina district.
Separately, two Israeli soldiers were shot dead at the intersection between the West Bank and Jordan, occupied by Jordanian residents.
The man arrived at the truck and fired at the troops near the border. An Israeli ambulance confirmed that two soldiers later died of their wounds.
The latest clash came when Israeli forces advanced in an attack in Gaza city. The attacks have driven away tens of thousands of residents.
Since the Israeli regime launched a genocide campaign in Gaza in October 2023, it has killed more than 65,000 people and injured more than 165,000 individuals.
