The program began with the iconic “Hedwig’s Theme” by John Williams. The melody, reminiscent of Harry’s first moment in the magical world, was perfectly synchronized with the on-screen image of “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone,” evoked waves of emotion. The delicate notes of the violin and the grandeur of the wind instruments seemed to transport the audience from Tehran to the Diagon Alley and the Hogwarts Hall of Fame.
From John Williams’ first three films to Patrick Doyle’s emotional melody in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Nicholas Hooper in Phoenix Order, and Alexandre Desplat in Deathly Hallows, each of which took place live and in sync.
Hogwarts’ epic battle sequence in “Deathly Hallows – Part 2” culminated in live performances of Deathplatt’s “Statue” and “Paulownia Apocalypse.”
At the moment of Patronus’ charm in “Prisoner of Azkaban,” the choir and string instruments sounded so realistic Harry’s silver stag looked like he was applause and excited screams echoed through the hall.
The “Forget” performance, along with Harry, Hermione and Ron’s sequence, escaped the death-eating people and took the audience into the tense, emotional atmosphere of “Deathly Hallows.”
Patrick Doyle’s melody from “The Goblet of Fire” with an energetic and dramatic rhythm has revived a sense of competition and danger. Nicholas Hooper’s music in “The Order of Phoenix” is a dark, deep theme that reflects the atmosphere of fighting the darkness.
Finally, the emotional depth and rhythmic diversity of the work in Alexandre Desplat’s “Deathly Hallows” brought the story to its epic and emotional climax.
