Hezbollah on Sunday confirmed the martyrdom of one of its members, Hassan Ali Jamil Sultan, following an Israeli drone attack on a vehicle in southern Lebanon. Lebanon’s Health Ministry earlier announced that one person was killed in the attack in the town of Aita al-Shaab.
This latest invasion comes amid a marked escalation of Israeli military operations in southern Lebanon, which Hezbollah denounces as a clear violation of the ceasefire agreement brokered between the two countries in 2024. A ceasefire agreement aimed at preventing cross-border hostilities has been repeatedly undermined by Israeli invasions and airstrikes in recent weeks.
Hezbollah stressed its resolute resistance in the face of Israeli provocations and reaffirmed its determination to protect Lebanon’s sovereignty. The group also warned that continued violations could lead to widespread conflict.
