Hezbollah leader Naim Qassem said on Sunday that his Lebanese resistance would not surrender or discard its weapons in response to Israeli threats, despite increased pressure to disarm.
“This threat will not accept surrender,” Qassem said in a speech aired to thousands of supporters in the southern suburbs of Beirut, the Hezbollah base, during Asura’s Muslim religion memorial.
The Lebanese government, particularly the US and France, under pressure from the Zionist and Western governments, have called on resistance groups to arm themselves and lay weapons.
This is while Hezbollah claims he chose to silence against repeated attacks by the Zionist regime on the territorial integrity and sovereignty following the ceasefire between Hezbollah and Zionist groups last year.
“We will continue to defend because we believe that liberation is an obligation, even if it takes time and requires a lot of sacrifice. The Zionist enemy will continue to aggression and occupy five districts.
He called on Israel’s Zionist regime to comply with the ceasefire, saying, “What Israel has not committed is implementing the first phase of the agreement: to stop withdrawal, infringement and (reconnaissance) flights, release prisoners, release prisoners, begin reconstruction, which is important to us.
Given the recent Israeli imposed war on Iran, Hezbollah’s leaders have said Iran has not allowed the Israeli regime to achieve its goals. “(Iranian leader) Ayatollah Khamenei has always supported us with his courage, faith, support and guidance. We also pay tribute to the Iranian state.
