Hezbollah Secretary-General Sheikh Naim Qasem gave a televised speech on Monday at the memorial service for the late media figure Hajj Mohammad Afif al-Naburusi, condemning Israel’s “blatant aggression” against Lebanon.
Qasem said the current escalation “is not a failure to honor the ceasefire agreement, but a preemptive attempt to strip Lebanon of military, economic and political power.”
He accused Israel of assassinating journalists to silence voices that reveal the “truth of the battle” and challenge the “tyrannical and criminal media.”
Qassem called Afif “a model of reliable analysis and accurate reporting” for pinpointing the principles of resistance.
Qassem reaffirmed Hezbollah’s position, declaring: “We will not accept the loss of even an inch of Lebanon. What is happening today is a blatant invasion aimed at controlling Lebanon and seizing all its power.”
