In a statement issued Thursday by the Arab and International Relations department, Lebanon’s resistance movement said the perception reflects a growing awareness among global opinions on justice in the Palestinian struggle.
Hezbollah emphasized that such perceptions do not change the daily suffering of Palestinians in occupation and exile, particularly amid the ongoing two-year massacre in Gaza, but that represents significant political change.
The movement emphasized that this international change would not have happened without resisting the immobilization of Palestinians resisting forced evacuation and genocide, and “heroic resistance to the killing machines of Zionist enemies supported by the US.”
Hezbollah urged the international community and all influential actors to take more effective measures to stop what is described as a crime against more than two million people in Gaza and to stop the blockade, hunger and systemic displacement imposed by the Israeli occupation.
The statement comes after several countries led by France officially acknowledged Palestine on Monday at the start of a non-sponsored “Two-State Solutions” meeting in New York.
Portugal has officially recognized the Palestine province and has become the latest western country to take this step after similar announcements by Canada, the UK and Australia.
