Speaking at the cup opening ceremony on Tuesday, Morteza Karamuzian, head of the Basij media organization, said the national media league’s main goal is to offset the often negative news environment by producing positive and inspiring stories that foster hope in society, Mehr news agency reported.
He stressed that in a situation dominated by sanctions and unfavorable narratives, the event seeks to increase public optimism by showcasing Iran’s progress across various fields.
Mr. Karamuzian emphasized the importance of creating hope in the media. “Given the negative tone in the news and the focus on sanctions, our goal is to contribute at least 1 percentage point to raising the hopes of the population.”

“We want to highlight successes, achievements and positive stories that can inspire confidence and optimism across the country.”
He also noted that the competition includes joint training exercises aimed at creating impactful content for dissemination across diverse media platforms.
“Our goal is to generate effective content in various formats that helps raise hope and promote a positive image of Iran’s capabilities,” he added.
The two-day event focuses on themes such as Jihad of Service, Jihad of Clarification, Jihad of Hope, and Jihad of Science and Progress in Iran, with these categories reflecting the new narrative the League seeks to advance.
The competition includes categories such as news reports, multimedia works, infographics, and AI-generated content, and aims to highlight the country’s achievements with innovative and positive storytelling.
The initiative builds on the success of the First Hope Media Cup, held in Tehran from May 18 to 19, and aims to foster a new media discourse centered on national strength, hope, and real progress.
