TEHRAN – Israel believed that by sharing a photo of Israeli soldiers writing “Mahsa Amini” about ammunition intended to strike with Iran, they would rally public support that they had not gained during the 12-day Iran-Israel war. However, the move sparked a mixed reaction with many Iranians who now question Israel’s role in the 2022 violence that rocked Iran, but did not support it.
“Source provided us with a photograph showing Israeli flight engineers who wrote their commitment to Mahsa Amini in an airstrike on Iran,” said an individual affiliated with X’s Democracy Foundation (FDD) who advocates that FDD, a Washington-based Israeli lobby group, which advocates to attack Iran’s attacks. It maintains close ties with the Israeli regime.
The Post quickly became word of mouth as Iranians expressed their anger. Many have questioned whether FDD workers believe Iranians are “silly.” “Would you write the name of Mahsa Amini on the bomb used to kill us and hope to thank Israel?” One X user, looks like a young woman from Tehran. “The boldness of the Israelites is incredibly disgusting.”
On June 13, Israel launched an unprovoked, unprecedented war against Iran. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued a video message claiming his “war” was against the government, not the Iranian people, urging him to “stoop for freedom.” Between June 13 and June 24, at least 1,060 Iranians were killed, most of which were civilians, including women and children.
Analysts suggest that Israel, its allies and its criminal partners, believes they can oppose Iranian people to the government through propaganda and attacks on civil infrastructure. However, this purpose failed completely. Figures from both Iranian and Western polls show that the Iranian government became more popular during the war.
“We did not fall into your deception during the war, and we certainly are not now,” writes an Iranian man in X.
Mahasa Amini was a 22-year-old woman who died a few days after being taken into custody by Tehran police. Video showed her lying at a police station while talking to officers. There was no physical altercation in the video, and hospital reports showed she had died from an existing medical condition.
Her death initially sparked protests, which later escalated into a fatal riot. By the spring of 2022, at least 300 people had died, including many security personnel. At the time, the Iranian government accused Israel and the United States of organizing unrest and fueling it. It claims it has gained considerable traction since its use of the war and Israeli Mahsa Amini name in its promotion.
“These photos are the last claws in the co,” said Martha, 27, from Esfahan, in response to images of the Israeli bomb. “The Israelites are behind the violence of our country. We now know this better than ever.”
