In addition to the victims of the relentless deaths of the ongoing Israeli artillery bombardment, the elderly and children of Gaza are dying silently.
This was the result of deadly living conditions intentionally imposed by Israel, which exhausted its population. At the forefront of these crimes are starvation, infringement of extreme suffering, medical deprivation, and the imposition of total lockdowns.
Now, the intense siege, which has entered three consecutive months, has had devastating and long-term effects. Israel’s systematic policies seek to destroy any means of survival and eliminate any pathways to stay alive. This deepens humanitarian catastrophe and provides a central tool in implementing genocide policies.
Over the past week, 14 elderly Palestinians have been recorded as having died across Gaza from complications related to hunger, malnutrition and lack of medical care. These deaths have directly linked the complete closure of Israel’s border crossings and the prevention of humanitarian aid and essential goods since March 2nd.
