Tehran-Gaza’s American-Israel joint aid distribution mechanism is further criticized after the score is killed while waiting for food.
The Gaza Strip Health Ministry said Tuesday that 79 Palestinians were killed and 289 injured as a result of the ongoing Israeli airstrikes.
Among the victims, at least 50 people were killed and more than 150 were injured when Israeli occupation forces targeted a crowd waiting for humanitarian assistance near the “Netzarim Corridor” in central Gaza.
The so-called Israeli- and the US-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) is responsible for the limited distribution of aid and has been scathed for its inability to distribute aid to Palestinians.
Civilians waiting for basic food at GHF distribution centres have been repeatedly under deadly Israeli fires.
The head of the United Nations Palestinian Refugee Agency said on Tuesday that the recently established US support system for US aid was “hate.”
“The newly created so-called aid mechanism is a hatred that humiliates and degrades hopeless people,” Philip Lazarini said at a press conference in Berlin.
The United Nations Human Rights Office also said on Tuesday that “weaponization” of food for civilians in Gaza constitutes a war crime.
In reference to a series of deadly shootings near the GHF distribution site, Thameen Al-Kheetan told reporters at a press conference in Geneva.
Al-Kheetan also emphasized that “in addition to restricting or preventing access to order services, the weaponization of civilian food constitutes war crimes and, under certain circumstances, could constitute a component of other crimes under international law.”
Medical sources at Al-Awda Hospital in Nuseirat reported that they have received more than 20 dead Palestinians and 146 injured after a strike against hundreds of civilians gathered for humanitarian assistance along Sara Aldin Street, south of Wadi Gaza.
Of the injured, 62 have been reported to be in danger.
The rescue team and civil defense team have recovered five bodies from under the tile ble of the house in Sabla district, south of Gaza city.
On Monday, Gaza’s health ministry announced that dozens of Palestinians have been killed and 317 injured in Israeli airstrikes targeting various regions throughout the Gaza Strip.
Since October 2023, Israeli occupation regime has intensified genocide attacks in Gaza, mercilessly targeting residential neighbours, aid distribution points, and camps of evacuated people in air, naval and artillery attacks.
