We accept cooperation and exchange of information between Iranian authorities and the IAEA. In these challenging and complex situations, it is important for the IAEA to receive timely and regular technical information about the facilities and their respective sites. This information is necessary to promptly notify the international community and ensure effective response and support for Iran’s emergency. Without information, we cannot accurately assess radiological status and potential impacts on the population and the environment, nor can we provide the necessary assistance.
The agency exists in Iran. It protects Iran’s inspections as soon as safety conditions are permitted, as required under Iran’s NPT protection obligation.
I’m in touch with the ground inspector. Their safety remains our number one priority, and all necessary actions are taken to ensure that they are not harmed.
