“Our inspectors have returned to Iran and are conducting inspections at facilities not affected by the June attacks, but further engagement is needed to restore full inspections. “At the board meeting, I reported on our continued efforts to maintain nuclear safety, security, and safeguards and strengthen the benefits of nuclear science and technology around the world,” Grossi said in a post on his X account.
The IAEA chief also stated in his opening remarks at the board meeting, “We are not asking anyone to draft a resolution.”
According to Grossi, Iran and the IAEA need to focus on the work we need to do under the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and safeguards agreements.
He further argued that “Iran’s continued membership in the NPT is a wise decision.”
Iran has accused Grossi of lying to the IAEA board about the June invasion by the U.S. and Israeli regimes.
