Officials from the Khormozgan province said the number of bodies identified in the explosion at Shahid Rajay port in Bandar Abbas in southern Iran has risen to 36.
Javad Milhadi, head of the Hormozgan Legal Medical Institution, announced on Saturday that three more victims of the explosion were identified, bringing the total to 36.
He said DNA samples were collected from the remaining bodies of the deceased and close relatives.
The results will be announced to clarify genetic data and that the samples will match.
Official sources say 70 people lost their lives in the explosion. Initially, 33 casualties were identified, but now it has increased to 36.
After the fuel tanker exploded, a powerful explosion shook the Shahid Rajae port on April 26, 2025, causing a major fire that later disappeared.
