TEHRAN – Israeli War Minister Israel Katz tried to revert his previous statement to a post on X on Monday, claiming that the regime had no intention of hurting Iranian civilians, despite his first Hebrew statement.
Katz’s first comment came after Iran’s eighth strike against the occupied territories since the outbreak of the war, and declared that “Tehran residents” would “pay the price” to make the attack successful. A Hebrew statement aimed at Israelis who spent hours at a bomb shelter quickly spread to Persian social media. This further undermines Israel’s hope that Israel incites unrest in coordination among the Iranians and forces Katz to take him back to X.
“I want to make it clear: I have no intention of physically harming the Tehran residents,” he wrote.
But the claims cried against the backdrop of repeated attacks on housing and private infrastructure that have killed at least 224 Iranian civilians since Israel’s unprovoked murder campaign began on Friday.
Below is a partial list of civilians killed in Israeli attacks in Tehran alone.
