The main focus of the Tehran-work jury process took part in the 9th edition of Imam Reza Graphic Festival. This is about fighting oppression, facing imperialism, defending those who are oppressed.
In previous editions, the theme revolved primarily around the kindness of Imam Reza (AS), while in the ninth edition, attention was directed towards his legacy, particularly resistance to injustice, opposition to imperialism, and the defense of the oppressed Masaud Shojai Tabatabai.
He pointed out that one aspect that is often overlooked in visual arts and graphic design at the festival is the dimension of struggle and advocacy that exists in Imamreza’s life, which can be analyzed through multiple lenses.
He added that the festival’s policy decision council is putting a significant emphasis on the theme of Gaza, defending the oppressed, fighting oppression, and portraying justice for the Palestinians and Gazanians.
It is globally recognized that Israel’s portrayal as a racist regime is being condemned even in unexpected places like Harvard University and various parts of the world.
This global consensus, he explained, emphasized the legitimacy of the Palestinian cause and made Palestinians a priority in the festival’s artistic discourse.
He concluded that in this edition, innovation, novelty and creativity in the themes of injustice in resistance and battle, is highly valued.
The purpose of this festival is to not only convey a strong message, but also to cultivate artwork that demonstrates originality and artistic ingenuity in dealing with modern struggles against oppression.
