Foreign Minister Araguchi made his remarks when he arrived in New York on Monday to attend the 80th session of the UN General Assembly.
“Today, I will be in consultation with several bilateral meetings… We are also meeting with (Rafael) Grossi to discuss the latest situation regarding Iran’s nuclear program, the Iran-Eare Cooperation Agreement, and the ongoing snapback process at the Security Council,” he said.
“A press conference following the agreement with the IAEA emphasized that if the snapback is finally implemented, the agreement with the IAEA will be void. The cooperation agreement with the IAEA, if implemented in the situation of snapback, faces a new state, if the three European countries reach the destructive actions of the security countries. IAEA. We will explain in detail about these issues.
“I will meet with the foreign ministers of major European powers. This is the moment when the other side has to decide whether to choose a path of cooperation or a path of confrontation,” Araguchi further said.
Araguchi and IAEA Director Rafael Grossi recently signed a new agreement via Egypt for cooperation in Cairo. The agreement concerns new modalities for testing after the Israeli USA attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities in June. The Iranian parliament had suspended its previous safeguard agreement with the IAEA shortly after the invasion.
