US President Donald Trump also said Russian leader Vladimir Putin has begun preparing for a meeting with Vladimir Zelensky, according to Tas.
“I called Putin and started arranging a meeting between Putin and Zelensky at a place to be decided. After that meeting was held, we have Trilat,” he wrote on the Truth social media platform.
“This was very good, early on” to end the conflict, Trump said. “Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and special envoy Steve Witkov are coordinating with Russia and Ukraine,” the US leader pointed out.
Previously, Trump held a meeting with Vladimir Zelensky and European leaders. The talks involved French President Emmanuel Macron, British Prime Minister Kiel Starmer, German Prime Minister Friedrich Merz, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, Finland President Alexander Stabb, and European Commission Chairman Ursula von der Leyen and NATO Secretary-General Mark Latte.
