“Direct or indirect import or passage of all goods originating or exported from Pakistan, whether freely importable or permitted, will be prohibited with immediate effect until further order,” a notice from India’s Ministry of Commerce read.
“These restrictions are imposed for national security and public policy,” he added.
Meanwhile, Pakistani forces on Saturday said they had conducted training launches for surface-to-surface and surface missile weapons systems.
“Pakistan has successfully launched a training training for the Abdali weapons system today, a surface-to-face missile in a range of 450 kilometres,” the military statement read.
“The launch was intended to ensure operational potential for the military and verify key technical parameters, including improved missile navigation systems and maneuverability capabilities.”
After the attack in Pahargam, Kashmir, where 26 tourists were killed, New Delhi and Islamabad closed the Waga Atari border. This was the only acceptable trade route between the two countries.
India has also suspended the Indus Water Treaty, which governs how water in the Indian Basin is shared between India and Pakistan.
India accused Pakistan of supporting the attackers, but Islamabad denied responsibility.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said he has given the troops “freedom to operate fully” in response to the attack.
In response to India’s diplomatic actions, Pakistan has halted all border trade, closed airspace to Indian flights, and expelled Indian diplomats.
Pakistan also warned that India’s suspension of the Indus Water Treaty would be considered an act of war.
