Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Saeed Khatibzadeh, who is visiting Minsk, on Wednesday met and held talks with the Foreign Minister of the Republic of Belarus, Maxim Vladimirovich Luzhenkov.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed bilateral relations and issues of mutual interest.
Khatibzadeh, who is also the director of Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Center for Political and International Affairs, took part in the two-day conference attended by about 200 delegates from 40 countries.
Mr. Khatibzadeh emphasized the importance of dialogue forums such as the Eurasian Security Council within the framework of the current geopolitical turmoil.
The two diplomats also emphasized that Minsk and Tehran’s positions are aligned on important aspects of the Eurasian multilateral agenda.
Furthermore, Mr. Khatibzadeh and Mr. Ryzhenkov emphasized the constructive nature of engagement in the international arena and expressed a common interest in promoting exchanges between foreign policy think tanks.
