Iranian Minister of Roads and Urban Development Farzaneh Sadegh met with Chinese Minister of Housing and Urban-Rural Development Nie Hong on the sidelines of the 2nd China-Europe Railway Connectivity Forum held in China, and emphasized the formulation of a joint roadmap and action plan in the housing and urban development sector.
The Iranian Minister of Roads stressed the need to create new areas of cooperation between the two countries in the field of housing and construction, and considered it necessary to hold continuous bilateral meetings to develop relations and promote joint projects.
Foreign Minister Sadeg said that Iran is fully prepared to transfer China’s know-how and experience in the fields of construction, urban development and building renovation, considering that China is one of the advanced countries in the fields of transportation and housing construction.
During the meeting, the country’s Roads Minister also highlighted knowledge exchange on China’s successful model of integrating transport and urban development (transit-oriented development) and the development of a joint roadmap.
The two sides also emphasized the exchange of experience and technical know-how that China has in the fields of climate-friendly architecture, building energy consumption management, technologies related to smart homes and sustainable development.
