“In line with the agreements held during the fourth round of diplomatic negotiations with Iran and three European countries, a professional and technical discussion on the lifting of nuclear issues and sanctions took place at the expert level in Geneva on Thursday,” Qasem Gallibabadi wrote to X on Friday night.
In a telephone conversation with British Foreign Secretary David Lamey on Thursday night, Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araguchi repeatedly reiterated Iran’s willingness to engage diplomatically on a peaceful nuclear program, but emphasized that direct negotiations under “maximum pressure” and “military threats” were pointless.
Expressing his dissatisfaction with Europe’s unconstructive behavior, Aragut criticized the continued sanctions against Iran under unfounded pretext. He urged three European countries to rethink their approach to regional issues in Iran and West Asia.
