Mohammad-Ali Dehghan-Dehnavi made his remarks during a meeting with Andrei Slepnev, chairman of the Eurasian Economic Committee, in Kyrgyzstan on Saturday.
The TPO chief traveled to Cholpon Ata city in Kyrgyzstan. First Vice President Mohammad Reza and Minister of Industry, Mining and Trade Mohammad Atabek attended a meeting of the EAEU heads of government that began on Thursday.
He pointed to future plans and strategies to further deepen bilateral relations, expressing that both sides are ready to develop trade and adding that they reviewed the mechanism of the inked Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between the EAEU and Iran.
The Eurasian Economic Union is an intergovernmental economic group consisting of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Russia, Kyrgyzstan and Armenia. Iran, Uzbekistan, Moldova and Cuba have the status of union observer members.
During the visit, Iran’s first vice president, AREF, said Iran is seeking permanent membership, saying that the development of relations with neighbouring countries, particularly Eurasia, is one of the priorities of President Pezeshkian’s current administration.
