Seyed Reza Salehi Amiri, Minister of Iran’s cultural heritage, tourism and handicrafts, arrived in Cairo, Egypt and attended the G7 Tourism Ministers’ Meeting.
Iran and Egypt’s relationship in the field of tourism has entered a new high potential phase and opened a new horizon of strategic cooperation, Salehi Amiri told reporters.
“The main goal of this trip is to expand cooperation in the region that serves the interests of both countries in a professional and strategic way, opening a new perspective on cooperation,” he said.
“Egypt is one of the pioneers of Islamic civilization and history of the Arab world, and has many historical and cultural possibilities that are very interesting to the people of Iran. Iranians are eagerly waiting to become familiar with Egypt’s civilized and religious heritage,” he added.
“Iran also has extensive potential that is attractive to Egyptian tourists. There are many UNESCO-registered historic monuments that demonstrate Iran’s cultural and historical wealth, and are effective in increasing tourist exchanges and strengthening relations between the two countries,” he said.
Salehi Amiri noted that the relationship between Iran and Egypt in a new era has a very positive outlook and said that given the many cultural and historical commonalities between the two countries, it could be a model for successful cooperation between countries in the Islamic world.
