Foreign Minister Abbas Aragut, who leads the diplomatic delegation at the annual general meeting, met with Hungarian counterpart Peter Syjart on Tuesday afternoon to discuss ways to strengthen relations in the field of bilateral relations and mutual interests.
During the meeting, the two ministers also exchanged opinions on regional and international development.
A memorandum of understanding on scientific and educational cooperation in the field of higher education has been signed with a particular focus on science, technology, medicine and agriculture.
Araghchi arrived in New York on Monday, September 22nd, local time, and attended a high-level UN rally.
In addition to delivering Iran’s position and opinions during discussions and meetings at the UN General Assembly, the Foreign Minister will hold separate consultations with his counterparts and media representatives from other countries.
The 80th session of the UN General Assembly will officially open on Tuesday, September 23rd and will continue until Monday, September 29th.
President Masoud Pezeshkian traveled to New York to attend sessions and give a speech in front of organizations around the world.
