TEHRAN – The ongoing cooperation between Iran and IFSW includes three important measures in professional ethics, according to Hassan Mousavi Charak, Chairman of the Iranian Association of Social Workers.
“Initial measures include conducting a study on the implementation of the Global Statement of Social Work Ethical Principles approved at the 2018 Annual Meeting, subsequently implemented in the Asia-Pacific region and then at the global level. “We plan to do so,” IRNA quoted Mousavi as saying. – Cherak says:
The second step is to conduct research on the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on ethical social work practice, and the third step is to plan for the revision and promotion of a global statement. he added.
The official, who is also the regional committee member of the International Federation of Social Workers (IFSW) Asia-Pacific Regional Ethics Committee, made the remarks on the sidelines of the IFSW Annual General Meeting in Asia-Pacific on Friday.
The official further said that the 28th Asia-Pacific Social Work Regional Conference, which will focus on social work responses to climate change and other environmental issues, will be held in Sri Lanka from November 18 to 21.
At the annual meeting, Iran, like many other countries, reported on the association’s activities in 2024.
The Iranian Association of Social Workers’ report covers participation in policy development, interaction with non-governmental and governmental organizations, and interactions with universities, media, students, volunteers, and veterans.
Other activities mentioned included scientific research activities, participation in professional conferences and conferences, and international exchange of associations.
The Iranian Association of Social Workers is the most active NGO in social policy making in Iran. Members receive services such as professional training and workshops, conferences, seminars, participation in campaigns, recreational activities, and employee referrals.
