On Wednesday morning, Pezeshkian had a telephone conversation with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, highlighting the need for collective efforts by Islamic countries to prevent the ongoing humanitarian disaster in Gaza.
He said the atrocities committed by the Zionist regime in Gaza were unacceptable by free humans. “We hope that Islamic countries will act with active diplomacy and coordinated pressure to prevent the continuation of these crimes in Gaza and to stand up with unity and responsibility.”
The president added that Iran’s Islamic Republic has always defended the rights of an oppressed Palestinian state, and has called on other Islamic countries to take a stronger and more positive attitude towards supporting Palestinian people and Gaza. “The collective efforts to combat the crimes of the Zionist regime in Gaza are effective,” he said.
Referring to the recent 12-day war imposed by the Zionist regime against Iran, Pezeshkian said, “Our only drawback is defending the oppressed Palestinians and their human rights, defending our hatred of the injustice they suffer.
Elsewhere in the call, the Iranian president called for greater cooperation with Malaysia and for greater interaction in all areas of mutual interest.
