Deputy Minister of Science, Research and Technology of Iran and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Alexander Pankin emphasized the importance of deepening scientific, academic and technical cooperation between universities and research institutions of the two countries.
The conference was held on the sidelines of the UNESCO General Assembly in Samarkand.
During the meeting, the two delegations emphasized the continued cooperation between Iranian and Russian universities, especially in the technological and industrial fields, and stressed the need to further leverage the vast scientific and technological capabilities of both countries to expand academic exchanges.
They also discussed opportunities for joint projects in areas such as emerging technologies, basic science, engineering, space technology, artificial intelligence, transportation, energy, environment, earth sciences, oceanography, health, and medicine.
In addition, both sides explored ways to strengthen cooperation in Persian and Russian language education, teacher and student exchange, and cooperation between UNESCO Category II Centers and Creative Cities and Learning Cities.
