Tehran – Iranian Minister of Culture and Islamic Leader and Russian Minister of Culture met in St. Petersburg to discuss the areas of cooperation between the two countries.
At the meeting, we sang Abbassalech, who traveled to St. Petersburg at the official invitation of Russian counterpart Orgaliuvimova. The summit is evidence of the two leaders’ commitment to expanding relationships, Mehr reported.
On her side, Livimova thanked her Iranian counterparts for being happy with their participation in the International Cultural Forum and for making Iran’s Russian Cultural Week organization a success.
She further highlighted Kazan’s candidacy as the cultural capital of the Islamic world in 2026, demanding Iran’s support.
The two ministers also discussed the results of the June meeting in Tehran, which aimed to promote a comprehensive strategic agreement between the two countries, and discussed new proposals to strengthen cooperation.
Both sides agreed to hold Iranian Culture Week in Russia in 2026. “Following the success of Russian Culture Week hosting in Iran, the Russian side is ready to organize the era of Iranian culture in 2026,” Libimova said.
Salech arrived in St. Petersburg on Wednesday afternoon to attend the 11th United Cultural Forum and hosted consultations on the expansion of Iranian Russian cultural relations.
The forum was held on Thursday and Friday, with the Minister of Culture and senior representatives of over 40 national and international organizations taking part.
