Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan, held the regional forum of the Olympic and Olympic Council (OCA) in West Asia and Central Asia on April 6, 2025. During the meeting, the National Olympic Committee of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Sports Cooperation Documents of the Republic of Tajikistan were signed.
Signing the cooperative document reflects the efforts of Iran and Tajikestan to boost relations, including sports. This document will help both Persian cultural countries improve the quality of their sporting activities.
In line with supporting Tehran-Duchampbe’s bond, Iranian President Maud Pezzekian traveled to Tajikistan in January 2025 to meet his counterpart, Emomali Ramon.
Pezeskian described the trip as a privileged relationship between the two countries and called for the development of cultural, scientific, economic and security relations between the two countries. Emomali Ramon called for deeper relationships.
Mehdi Alinejad and Zolfaqar Gol Ahmadzadeh are Secretary-General and Vice-Chair of the National Olympic Committees of Iran and Tajikistan, respectively, and have signed the agreement.
This document highlights cooperation in the areas of coaching, refereeing and co-sports camps.
