The joint exercise reflects Iran’s strategic commitment to strengthening border security, countering terrorism and promoting lasting peace in the Caucasus through military coordination with neighboring countries.
Brigadier General Sayz Morteza Milian, senior representative of the military’s general staff, stressed Iran’s policy of respecting the territorial integrity of all neighboring countries, saying, “The defence of friendship with all countries and regional sovereignty is the pillar of our strategic doctrine.
“He emphasized the full preparation and seamless coordination of the IRGC ground forces with the Armenian army when organising this drill.
The joint drill took place in the Nordouz region, located under the Ashura Regional Headquarters.
Mild and heavy weapons, manipulation of snipers, dismantling, and excavating support were part of the movement.
The drill was led by Brigadier General Variola Madani, deputy operation commander of the IRGC ground forces.
Senior Iranian military officials closely oversaw the planning and implementation stages.
This joint operation occurs amid rising regional tensions and is seen as a clear message that Iran remains immovable in its commitment to peace and cooperation, while maintaining national security and strategic depth. Cooperation with Iran with Armenia, a neighbouring country with historic ties, is in line with Tehran’s broader policies regarding regional diplomacy and defence preparation.
