Alev made the remarks on Tuesday during a meeting with Belarusian Prime Minister Alexander Turchin in Moscow on the sidelines of the 24th Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Government Summit, Mehr news agency reported.
“Political relations between Tehran and Minsk are at a high level, and the level of cooperation in the economic, cultural and scientific fields should be increased as well,” Aref said at the meeting.
“Strengthening cooperation between the two countries in various fields has not only benefited both countries, but given the two countries’ active membership in the regional association, which includes Eurasia and Shanghai, this cooperation could be beneficial for the entire region,” he added.
He called the Iranian President’s recent visit to Minsk “a turning point in bilateral relations” and emphasized the role of the private sector in joint investment, joint production and cooperative development.
The Belarusian prime minister described Iran as a “friendly and close country” and said the implementation of recently signed agreements and free trade agreements with Eurasia will help expand relations. He also announced that Belarus is interested in joint projects and organizing the “Day of Belarusian Culture in Iran”.
