Iran had previously lost to Japan and South Korea, beating India in competition.
Iran will face China’s Taipei on Thursday, the Tehran Times reported.
The Republic of Korea won eight of the 10 versions between 2005 and 2019. The last two winners were in 2022, when neither Japan nor Korea participated, and in 2023.
The reserve rounds for the 11th AHF Asian Women’s Youth Handball Championship will be held on July 18th, 19th and 21st, with the semi-finals scheduled for July 23rd.
The Big Final and Bronze Medal match are scheduled to take place on July 26th.
The 2025 Asian Women’s Youth Handball Championship will be the 11th edition of the Championship held in Jinganshan, China from July 18th to 26th, 2025, and will support the Asian Handball Federation. It was the first time in history that a championship was organized by the Chinese Handball Association. It also serves as a qualifying tournament for the 2026 Women’s Youth World Handball Championship.
