In a statement released Tuesday, the ministry expressed deep concern over Gaza’s worsening humanitarian catastrophe, saying the situation was the result of “terrifying crimes” committed by Israel against Palestinians, news television reported.
Denouncing the continued massacre along with denial of food, water, medicine and other basic necessities for the defenseless people of Gaza, the ministry urged the international community and regional countries to take swift and decisive action to stop the genocide and alleviate the suffering of the Palestinians.
“The continued inhuman blockade of Gaza, the brutal shelling of shelters for displaced people, and the conversion into traps for civilians whose distribution points of humanitarian aid are targeted and cravings are clear evidence of the extreme cruelty and cruelty of Israel’s apartheid system and its supporters.”
The ministry referred to attacks on heavy starvation victims and those seeking assistance, saying, “The murder of more than 1,000 innocent people waiting on the food line and the death of more than 600 others from starvation provide clear examples of Zionist regime atrocities, war crimes and genocides.”
The statement, as a humanitarian group, including the United Nations and its children’s institution UNICEF, warns of devastating levels of malnutrition and starvation in Gaza. On Tuesday alone, at least 15 Palestinians, including four children, died of starvation, but the Israeli strike killed at least 81 people. The United Nations described the territorial situation as “a horror show that has recently parallel levels of death and destruction.”
The province also cited a UN report showing that 90% of Gaza are currently uninhabited, showing that 1.2 million residents face life-threatening levels of hunger.
Condemning the UN Security Council’s paralysis, the department said, “The failure of the Council to fulfill its legal obligations due to persistent obstruction by the United States has encouraged the Israeli government and normalised its criminal conduct.”
The United States and several European countries, particularly Germany, have provided Israel with “comprehensive military, economic and political support,” and granted effective immunity, including “ethnic cleansing and forced displacement of the Palestinians,” adding that it has enabled further atrocities.
“The supporters and apologists of the Israeli government, especially the United States, which not only supply weapons and political cover, but also obstructs accountability measures, must conspire and be held responsible for these crimes,” the statement continued.
“Pointing to the collapse of Gaza’s health system and the five-month ban on Israel’s food and medicine entrances, the ministry said Gaza’s plan to eradicate Palestinians is currently underway in the most frightening and most frightening form.”
It called on all states, international organizations and humanitarian organisations, particularly the UN Human Rights Council, the International Committee of the Red Cross, the World Health Organization and UNICEF to act urgently and effectively to stop Israeli crime and end the suffering of Gaza.
“This legal and moral obligation is based on the 1949 Geneva Convention and its protocols, the UN Charter, including the Genocide Convention, and international humanitarian law,” the statement emphasized.
Iran also urged Muslims and regional countries to fulfill their “obvious moral and religious obligations” by using all available tools, including Islamic cooperation and UN organizations, to pressure Israeli supporters, particularly the United States, to end the attacks and promote emergency water aid to food, water and Palestinians.
The statement also reaffirmed the Palestinian rights to self-determination and Iran’s support for their legitimate struggle to resist occupation and colonial apartheid, and emphasized the need to stop the “occupied Palestinian colony genocide” between free states and Muslims.
