At a meeting in Beijing on Friday, Iran, Chinese and Russian diplomats exchanged views on Iran’s nuclear program and other international issues.
In a joint statement, they emphasized the need to lift all illegal, unilateral sanctions.
The meeting, which was hosted by Chinese Deputy Minister Ma Chaoks, was attended by Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Galibabadi and Deputy Russian Deputy Minister Sergei Riabakov.
China, Russia and Iran said the parties involved should address the underlying causes of the current situation and commit to abandoning sanctions, pressure or threats of force.
They emphasized that “mutual respect”-based dialogue was the only practical solution to the issue, undermining diplomatic efforts by “restricting parties involved from refraining from taking actions that escalate the situation.”
