Foreign Minister Abbas Aragut declared that the Islamic Republic of Iran is prohibited from acquiring and using nuclear weapons, saying that he is always a dedicated member of the international non-proliferation regime, and at the same time insisting on the peaceful use of nuclear energy, including nuclear energy, including abundance.
The Foreign Minister made his remarks at the fourth round of the Iranian and Arab World Conference held in Doha’s Qatar capital on May 10, 2025.
“We don’t want nuclear weapons, and weapons of mass destruction have no place in Iran’s security doctrine. So we were one of the initiators to create a nuclear-weaponless zone in the Western Asia region,” the Foreign Minister said.
“We must refrain from double standards for Western countries and all those who claim to oppose nuclear weapons. We cannot be concerned about the peaceful nuclear energy of Iran or other countries in the region, but we will allow occupation, invaders and genocide regimes to own the great weapons of nuclear weapons,” he said.
“We will continue our dialogue with the US government and, of course, we will continue in good faith with Europe, Russia and China,” added Araguchi.
