Amir Seid Irabani, the permanent representative of Iran’s UN, says the Islamic Republic insists on implementing uranium enrichment within its territory.
In an interview with Al-Monitor published on Friday, Irabani said he insisted that Iran needs to enrich the Iranian soil.
Establishing a consortium to implement nuclear activities could serve as a complement, he said.
Iran has always sought peaceful solutions to address potential concerns about a peaceful nuclear program, the envoy said.
Irabani said the Joint Comprehensive Action Plan (JCPOA) was achieved with the exact same standards and that Iran continues to adhere to the same principles.
Previously, Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei said he would help Tehran establish a consortium to carry out its nuclear activities. However, this does not mean that the Islamic Republic will abandon enrichment within Iran.
