TEHRAN – In a post published late on X on the X late Saturday, Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghhay condemned recent “brave” remarks made by German officials on Iran.
“Remember the facts of history. Germany ignited two world wars. Still, the Iranians were driven by the senses of humanity and were refuged by Jews fleeing Hitler’s atrocities,” Baghey wrote.
“Ask the descendants of Polish and French refugees who have been given Iranian passports to escape Hitler’s fear. Those who have consistently stood on the wrong side of history will do well to remain silent today,” he added.
Baghaei’s statement comes in response to comments from German authorities who view Tehran as hostile and historically insensitive. His message highlights Iran’s long-standing commitment to humanitarian values, in contrast to Germany’s wartime legacy.
