Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmail Baghai condemned the Israeli military attack on Beit Zin in southern Syria, which resulted in the killing of several Syrian civilians.
He stressed that the peoples of the region have the inherent right to defend their national sovereignty and territorial integrity against Israeli aggression, and said the armed resistance of Syrian youth against Israeli forces is a natural and legitimate response.
Bagai also criticized Israel’s continued violations of international law and the spread of what he called the Tel Aviv regime’s crimes across the region. He expressed regret at the UN Security Council’s inaction in the face of Israel’s repeated attacks on the sovereignty and territorial integrity of regional countries, including Syria and Lebanon, and warned that such inaction poses grave risks to global peace and stability.
