In a statement on Friday, senior Iranian diplomats described the ongoing siege of the Gaza Strip and obstruction of humanitarian assistance. This is combined with fierce attacks on refugee camps and temporary shelters for displaced people as clear examples of war crimes and crimes against humanity. He called for decisive international action to indict and punish Israeli regime leaders for genocide and war crimes.
Baghey also criticized the UN Security Council’s inaction in the face of such atrocities, and denounced the US and European countries that continue to supply arms to Israel.
He further condemned continued violations of Lebanon’s sovereignty, including repeated violations of ceasefire agreements, drones and airstrikes on Lebanon’s territory, and targeted assassinations of political and social activists. He emphasized the responsibility of the United Nations and the ceasefire guarantor to end these violations and crimes.
He concluded with Israeli immunity and the continued killing of unprotected civilians in Gaza, the West Bank, and warnings that occupations of parts of Lebanon and Syria seriously threatened peace and security in Western Asia. He urged regional countries to adopt serious measures to prevent further instability and to tackle the expansionist policies of the apartheid regime.
