TEHRAN – Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) Quds Force strongly condemns the killing of Baluch Sunni elders at the hands of an Israeli-linked terrorist group in the country’s southeast.
The Revolutionary Guard’s Quds Force said in a statement: “The mercenary group affiliated with the evil Israeli regime has once again revealed its evil and anti-Islamic nature by committing its latest crime, namely the murder of numerous elders and sheikhs of Sunni ethnic groups…”
It added: “Those who carried out and ordered these crimes will soon be punished for their shameful acts. The powerful security forces and military of the Islamic Republic of Iran will give a firm response to their brutal acts.”
“Such crimes will never undermine the iron will of the Iranian nation and the exemplary unity of Shiites and Sunnis in Sistan-Baluchestan. The region’s vigilant people, loyal to the Supreme Leader, will remain vigilant and united in confronting the machinations of the enemies of Islam and Iran,” the statement said.
Israel has a long history of funding and enabling terrorist and separatist groups in the Iranian border region. The regime has been particularly active in rallying terrorists in Iran’s southeastern Sistan Baluchestan province, where dozens of people and security forces have lost their lives in recent years. Terrorists have also wreaked havoc in Pakistan’s border areas, carrying out attacks against civilians and military personnel. After the Iran-Israel war in June, the Zionist regime appears to have stepped up its efforts to foster violence in the region, hoping to prepare the ground for social chaos and anarchy.
