Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmail Baghai condemned the killing of civilians in the town of Karogi in Sudan’s South Kordofan province and called for immediate international action.
He expressed deep regret at the silence of the international community in the face of the dire humanitarian situation and repeated massacres of innocent people in Sudan.
Mr. Bagai also called on the international community to provide immediate humanitarian assistance to displaced Sudanese nationals, as well as to take serious and effective measures to stop foreign interference in Sudan and the transfer of arms to Sudanese rebel groups, which are the main drivers of the continuation and escalation of the crisis in this African country.
A series of drone strikes targeting kindergartens, hospitals and rescue teams in southern Sudan have killed nearly 80 people, more than half of them children, local officials said on Sunday, with the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) paramilitary group responsible for the attacks.
