According to Iran’s Foreign Ministry, Spokesman Esmail Baghai warned of the dangerous consequences of America’s lawless and aggressive unilateralism, which undermines both regional and global stability.
He strongly condemned the recent US military attacks on fishing boats in the Caribbean and the US government’s threat to use force against Venezuela’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. Mr. Bagai said these actions were serious violations of the United Nations Charter and the fundamental principles of international law.
The spokesperson called on the United Nations Security Council and the Secretary-General to pay immediate attention to the dangerous situation created by the United States’ claims of interference in the internal affairs of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, an independent member state of the United Nations.
Iran repeatedly reaffirmed its solidarity with Venezuela and its people, stressing that Iran supports sovereignty, independence, and the right of states to determine their own destiny free from foreign pressure or coercion.
