Tehran – Iranian special envoy of Syria Mohammad Reza Rauf Sheibani has established “indirect communication channels” with Tehran’s de facto ruler Hayat Taril al-Sham (HTS) I’ve confirmed that.
Speaking to Moscow’s Iranian national television, Shibani emphasized Iran’s “future-looking approach” to the Syrian issue, and highlighted the Islamic Republic’s commitment to “restore stability and unity” in a war-torn country I did.
His remarks follow a statement by Assad Hassan al-Sabani, the representative foreign minister of Syria, who has admitted the exchange of “positive messages” between Tehran and Damascus.
The special envoy emphasizes that Tehran is “examining development” and will act “at the right time” to ensure Syrian sovereignty remains intact.
“The future of Syria must be determined by those freed from external direction,” Sheevani argued that Iran has repeatedly opposed the Arab state’s “foreign intervention.”
Shivani’s recent visit to Moscow further solidified the adjustments of Iran and Russia in Syria.
In a meeting between Russian Deputy Minister Mikhail Bogdanov and special envoy Alexander Loverentiev, the two countries reaffirmed their common vision for Syria’s “territorial integrity” and “comprehensive political dialogue.”
“Tehran and Moscow are united by prioritizing stability in Syria,” said Shibani, who emphasized joint efforts to block the western and Israeli agenda in the region.
This collaboration comes amid growing concern over HTS’ governance capabilities. Analysts warn that the group’s inability to manage Syrian sect diversity will risk further instability.
Sheevani also described Tehran’s involvement as a “long-term strategy” to protect local interests.
He highlighted Iran’s preparations to support “all Syrian politicalists” in rebuilding the country if it refuses to operate foreignly.
“Peace in Syria is not merely a regional concern, but a global order,” the special envoy concluded.
