The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Mexico issued a statement firmly rejecting the accusations of the United States and Israel regarding the thwarting of an alleged plot by Iran to assassinate the Israeli ambassador in Mexico.
“The claim that Iran tried to assassinate the Israeli regime’s ambassador in Mexico is a gross media lie aimed at damaging the friendly and historical relations between our two countries, and we firmly reject it,” the Iranian embassy said in a statement.
The embassy stressed that Iran and Mexico share common interests, adding that Mexico’s security is Iran’s security. “We will never betray the trust that the Mexican government has placed in us.”
The statement further stated that Iran would never seek to tarnish the good image of the Mexican people, describing any action that undermines Mexico’s interests as “undermining our own interests,” and reaffirmed that respect for Mexican law continues to be Iran’s top priority.
The embassy also dismissed allegations of anti-Semitism against Iran as “a grave lie concocted by the racist leaders of the Israeli regime.” The report highlighted that there are more than 100 synagogues in Iran, all of which are open to the public without security guards.
The statement concluded by saying that during Israel’s attack on Iran in June, “not a single incident of verbal harassment was recorded against the country’s large Jewish community.”
