In a statement Thursday, Esmaeil Baghaei issued a strong responsibilities after the US imposed new sanctions targeting individuals, organizations and vessels related to Iran’s energy and oil sector.
Previously, the US Department of State has announced approvals for more than 115 such individuals, agencies and vessels, the report reported.
Baghaei saw the move as a clear reflection of “the hostility of US policymakers towards the Iranian people.”
Officials say the real purpose behind the sanctions is to crippling Iran’s development, sow internal discrepancies, and erode the rights and livelihoods of ordinary citizens.
That’s all of Washington’s hostile measures against Iranian people over the past 70 years, he pointed out.
Bagaei pointed out that the United States, behind the Israeli regime’s unprovoked war of aggression over Iranian territory last month, is throwing unprecedented support.
“The Iranian people are fully aware of the malice of the offensive authorized parties… they will stand firm in all their power to protect their dignity and interests,” he declared.
The spokesman criticized Washington’s unilateral “addictions” to chronic “addictions” and used illegal pressure tactics to pursue such illegal targets.
In doing so, he said the United States has repeatedly violated international law, human rights and freedom of sovereign trade.
He added that such actions had to be met with international accountability.
Baghaei finally highlighted the country’s “unwavering resolve” in the face of Washington’s provocation, “to pursue a noble goal to protect the sovereignty of the nation and build a homeland.”
