Esmaelil Baghhai, a spokesman for Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, attended weekly press conferences on Monday to discuss the recent developments of Iran and the region.
In response to a question raised by a reporter about Trump’s letter to Iran, he said, “We did not receive the letter.”
Asked about Iran’s position on negotiations, a senior Iranian diplomat said, “The policies of American politicians are bullying. The Islamic Republic has never refused to negotiate. The Islamic Republic will not accept negotiations under pressure.”
Condemning the brutal Western sanctions on Iran, Baguey said “unilateral US sanctions on Iranian state are absolutely illegal and have no legal justification or basis.”
He also urges regional countries to make decisions based on national interests and concerns, encourages good relations with Iran’s Islamic Republic, and does not allow US illegal and bullying pressures to negatively affect relations with Iran and create instigation and division in regional countries.
